Joni Mitchell

Such an angelic, female vocalist deserves nothing less than sheer recognition. A woman, whose voice has moved, comforted and shocked her listeners.

The sensibilities of folk, rock and jazz are merged into her music creating the songs we love. The singer/song-writer created the widely known hits of ‘Big Yellow Taxi’, ‘Both Sides Now’ and ‘River’ and her influence is considered a royalty of the 60-70’s era of folk. Such a tough upbringing is vastly reflected in her self-composed music, and can be truly moving to those who understand it, or possibly those who don’t. Her uniqueness to portray her emotions into songs deserves sheer recognition.

Our top 5 (aside from the three mentioned above):

  • The hissing of summer lawns
  • Hejira
  • A case of you
  • Coyote
  • California
